ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -Center Torrey Mitchell is in the San Jose Sharks’ lineup for the first time this season in Game 3 of their playoff series against the Anaheim Ducks.
Mitchell hasn’t played all year for the Sharks after breaking his left leg on the second day of training camp. The speedy forward then re-injured his leg during rehabilitation in January, but he’s been skating with the Sharks for a few weeks.
Mitchell played in every game for San Jose as a rookie last year, scoring 20 points. Coach Todd McLellan is hoping he injects some life into the Sharks, who lost the first-round series’ first two games at home.
To make room, the Sharks scratched 43-year-old forward Claude Lemieux.
