MONTREAL (AP) -The Montreal Canadiens were without defenseman Mathieu Schneider and left wing Alex Tanguay for their playoff game against the Boston Bruins on Monday night because of injuries.
The team announced shortly after the opening faceoff that both players were sidelined by upper body injuries.
Boston, which leads the series 2-0, lost left wing Milan Lucic to a one-game league suspension for his cross-checking match penalty late in Game 2.
Canadiens defenseman Francis Bouillon also didn’t dress after he returned from injury Saturday. Bouillon left Montreal’s 5-1 loss in Boston after taking four first-period shifts.
Montreal defenseman Ryan O’Byrne was active for the first time in the series, and left wing Gregory Stewart made his playoff debut.
