The Dallas Stars are really rebuilding for the future now.
Dallas on Tuesday traded 41-year Jaromir Jagr to Boston and sent surging center Derek Roy to Vancouver. That came just more than a week after captain Brenden Morrow was dealt to Pittsburgh.
The latest moves came a day after a 4-0 loss to Anaheim, a team the Stars play twice more this week. Dallas is 12th in the Western Conference with 13 games left, and on track to miss the playoffs for the fifth year in a row.
Dallas got two young prospects and a conditional second-round pick from Boston, and a 23-year-old defenseman and a second-round pick from Vancouver.
The Stars now have nine picks in this summer's six-round draft.
