DENVER (AP) -Peter Forsberg will make his season debut for Colorado against Vancouver on Tuesday night.
The Swedish forward says his ailing right foot felt healthy enough to play after the Tuesday morning skate-around.
Forsberg is returning at a good time for the Avalanche, who lost scoring threats Marek Svatos and Ryan Smyth to injuries during a game against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night.
Svatos will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.
Smyth is out indefinitely after suffering a concussion and shoulder separation on a violent check into the glass. He had to be carried off on a stretcher.
