ST. LOUIS (AP) -The St. Louis Blues waived Manny Legace on Friday, a move that gives other teams the opportunity to claim the 36-year-old goalie.
If Legace is not claimed by another team, Blues president John Davidson said he’ll be sent to Peoria of the American Hockey League.
Last season, Legace went to the All-Star game and was 27-25-8 with a 2.41 goals- against average. This season, he’s 13-9-2 with a 3.18 GAA and .885 save percentage, while Chris Mason has taken over as the team’s top goalie.
Legace has started just one game since Jan. 19, in Detroit on Monday night. He was pulled in the second period after giving up three goals on eight shots. The Blues eventually lost 4-3 in a shootout.
