ST. PAUL (AP) -Minnesota Wild backup goalie Josh Harding injured his left knee during the first period Thursday night against the Detroit Red Wings and was replaced by regular starter Niklas Backstrom.
Harding appeared to injure the knee early in the first while making two saves on a breakaway by Pavel Datsyuk and Patrick Eaves. Harding played the rest of the first period, but didn’t return for the second.
Harding, making his first home start in over a year, stopped 10 of 11 Red Wings shots and left trailing 1-0.
