CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) - Finally, the Florida Panthers are back at work.
The Panthers opened their on-ice portion of training camp on Monday, a day later than most NHL teams did and several months later than originally planned because of the lockout.
It's an abbreviated camp, with the season starting against Carolina on Saturday night.
Panthers coach Kevin Dineen says Erik Gudbranson and Marcel Goc will not be ready for opening night because of injuries, and may miss much of the season's first week. Highly touted rookie Jonathan Huberdeau was not on the ice Monday either, though he is expected to skate on Tuesday.
Florida ended a 12-year postseason drought last year by winning the Southeast Division title.
