Tuukka Rask made 28 saves in Thursday’s 2-1 overtime win against the New York Islanders in Game 3. Rask was phenomenal late in the game despite allowing Mathew Barzal’s tying goal that pushed the game into overtime. In the extra frame he stopped all five of the Islanders shots but it was in the first period where he set the tone with a beautiful stop on an Anthony Beauvillier breakaway. Rask owns a 6-2 post-season record with a 1.93 goals-against average and .934 save percentage.
New York Islanders DFS Spin
Semyon Varlamov allowed two goals in Thursday’s 2-1 overtime loss to the Boston Bruins in Game 3. Varlamov will likely shoulder the bulk of the blame for this loss as Brad Marchand beat him with a sharp-angle shot in overtime. However, the 33-year-old played well in the game and turned aside 39 shots. His best save of the game came in the second period when he absolutely robbed David Krejci on a one-timed attempt. Varlamov owns a 1-3 playoff record with a 2.83 goals-against average and .923 save percentage. Game four is scheduled for Saturday.
Bruins vs. Islanders Game 4 NHL Prediction
The under is 5-2-1 in the last eight meetings between these two teams in Uniondale. The under is also 6-2-1 in the Bruins’ last nine road games, is 5-2-1 in their last eight games as a road favorite and is 22-10-3 in their last 35 games playing on one day of rest. With the way these two teams play defense, tonight’s matchup should be another low-scoring affair.
