Andrei Vasilevskiy shielded 37 shots in a 2-1 win over Carolina in Game 1 of the second round on Sunday. Vasilevskiy was excellent in the contest, especially in the first period when he stopped all 15 shots he faced. He made 11 stops in each of the next two periods. The only goal he allowed came early in the third period from Jake Bean during a Carolina power play. Vasilevskiy has a 5-2 record this postseason with a 2.41 goals-against average and .936 save percentage.
Carolina Hurricanes DFS Spin
Alex Nedeljkovic stopped 28 of 30 shots in a 2-1 loss to Tampa Bay in Game 1 of the second round on Sunday. Nedeljkovic turned aside all 12 shots he faced in the first period before allowing a power-play goal to Brayden Point in the second on a deflection. However, the goal he surrendered to Barclay Goodrow late in the third frame, which was a sharp-angle shot, is probably one he would like to have back. The loss snaps Nedeljkovic’s two-game win streak and he will look to rebound on Tuesday in Game 2 on NBCSN at 7:30 PM ET. He has a 4-3 record this postseason with a 2.19 goals-against average and .923 save percentage.
