LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The Eastern Conference Final is set to get underway this weekend. Who has the edge when the New York Rangers meet the Tampa Bay Lightning?
Tampa Bay is 58-29-8 overall, 36-11-1 at home and 22-18-7 on the road. New York is 61-26-7 overall, 30-13-5 at home and 31-13-2 on the road. The Rangers beat the Pittsburgh Penguins in five games to start the playoffs then beat the Capitals in seven games to reach the conference finals. Tampa Bay defeated the Red Wings in seven games before disposing of the Canadiens in six games. New York will have the home-ice advantage in this series.
According to online sports book GT Bets, the Rangers are favored to win this series, as they are getting odds of -155 to prevail, while the Lightning are getting a money line of +135 to win. Game 1 of this series is set for Saturday at 1PM ET.
These two teams met three times this season, all before the start of 2015. Tampa Bay won all three meetings, including two games in New York. The Lightning had a 15-7 goal advantage in the three games and the two hit the over in all three meetings. Tampa Bay has won six of its last 10 meetings with New York dating back to 2012, while the two have pushed or hit the over in seven of their last 10 meetings.
