Penguins vs. Rangers Game 5 Odds
NEW YORK (TheSpread) – The New York Rangers can advance to the next round of the NHL Playoffs when they host the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at 7PM ET in Game 5 of their series.
The Penguins are 44-29-13 on the season and 21-14-8 on the road while the Rangers are 56-23-7 overall and 26-12-5 at home. The Rangers have won five of their last six against the Penguins thanks to a 2-1 OT victory in Game 4 on the road. New York took both games in Pittsburgh and the road team has now won three straight in this series. These two have hit the under in three of the four games in this playoff series.
According to online sports book GT Bets, New York is the clear favorite in this game, as the Rangers are getting odds of -185 to win, while the Penguins have been given a money line of +165 to prevail. The over/under total for the game has been set at 5 goals.
The Rangers escaped Pittsburgh with a 2-1 OT win in Game 4 to get the 3-1 series lead thanks to a goal from Kevin Hayes just three minutes into the extra frame. The Rangers gave up a goal to Patric Hornqvist two minutes into the contest, but Henrik Lundqvist was strong from there, recording 22 saves in the win. Derick Brassard got the game-tying goal late in the second period to set up the overtime.
