Stars roll past Flyers
Dallas picked up a 6-2 home victory over Philadelphia Tuesday night to improve to 42-31-7 on the season. The Stars opened the scoring 1:34 in on a Jason Dickinson goal assisted by Tyler Seguin and Alexander Radulov. Esa Lindell made it 2-0 less than three minutes later on a power play goal with assists going to Mats Zuccarrello and Radulov. The Flyers managed to tie the score in the second period before Dallas proceeded to score four unanswered goals. Radulov put the Stars back ahead with 3:21 left in the second on a power play goal off assists by Seguin and John Klingberg. Tyler Pittick added a goal later in the period on assists courtesy of Roope Hintz and Lindell. Blake Comeau made it 5-2 midway through the third period on assists from Radek Faksa and Klingberg. Radulov completed the scoring 10 seconds later on his 29th goal of the season off a Dickinson assist. Anton Khubodin stopped 32 out of 34 shots in the winning effort.
Blackhawks down Blues in shootout
Chicago earned a 4-3 shootout victory at home over St. Louis Wednesday night to improve to 35-33-12 on the season. Jonathan Toews was the lone player to find the back of the net in the shootout to send the Blackhawks to the win. Toews also opened the game’s scoring with the only goal of the first period on assists from Patrick Kane and Drake Caggiula. After the Blues tied it up in the second, Chicago again took the lead later in the period on an Artem Anisimov goal assisted by Dominik Kahun and Brandon Saad. Kane pushed the advantage to 3-1 with his 42nd goal of the season in the third period on assists by Dylan Strome and Duncan Keith before St. Louis scored twice the rest of the way to force overtime. Cam Ward surrendered three goals on 40 shots in the win.
NHL Betting Trends
Dallas
The road team is 4-0 in the last four meetings. The Stars are 5-2 in the last seven meetings.
Chicago
The Blackhawks are 3-6 in their last nine games overall. The over is 20-7-1 in the last 28 meetings in Chicago.
Prediction:
Dallas has played well its last couple meetings in Chicago and has handled the Blackhawks for the most part in recent meetings. With the Stars having something to play for beyond this weekend, look for a good effort here as they look to go into the playoffs in strong fashion. This is another lost season for Chicago and I can’t imagine a top-level effort as it prepares to shut down operations for the spring.
