Cory Schneider was expected to return from a knee injury tonight, but now he’s expected to make his return on Saturday. That means Keith Kinkaid will draw the assignment tonight versus Florida. In 21 contests this season, Kinkaid has a 2.78 GAA and a .904 save percentage. After struggling recently, he turned aside 39 of 40 shots in a 2-1 victory over the Bruins on Tuesday.
With Roberto Luongo receiving the night off, Al Montoya is expected to start tonight versus New Jersey. He’s played in just two of Florida’s last 10 games and owns a 2.10 GAA and a .923 save percentage in 22 contests in 2015-16. Last Monday he took the loss against the Rangers despite stopping 28 of 31 shots in a 4-2 defeat.

The Devils are 51-22-3 in their last 76 games versus the Panthers, who are 15-36 in their last 51 games after allowing five goals or more in their previous contest. They’ll also be without 22-year-old star Vincent Trocheck tonight as he’s expected to miss the rest of the regular season with a foot injury.
If New Jersey can get another big night out of Kinkaid, the Devils could be worth a flier as an underdog tonight against the Panthers’ backup.
