Anaheim Ducks Fantasy Spin
John Gibson allowed four goals on 33 shots in Saturday’s 4-2 road loss against the Chicago Blackhawks. Gibson falls to 13-18-3 with a 2.95 goals-against average and .905 save percentage across his 34 appearances. He’ll look to keep things going in a positive direction on Monday in St. Louis. Gibson helped the Ducks to a 4-1 road victory back on Nov. 16, allowing just one goal on 38 shots.
St. Louis Blues Fantasy Spin
Jordan Binnington allowed two goals on 23 shots in Saturday’s 5-2 win against the New York Rangers. Binnington improved to 22-7-4 with a 2.47 goals-against average and .917 save percentage across his 33 appearances. He has registered victories in nine of the past 10 starts dating back to Dec. 7. Binnington will look to stay red-hot in Monday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks. He allowed three goals on 24 shots in a 4-1 loss against the Ducks on Nov. 16 at Enterprise Center.
Betting Trends
Anaheim
The Ducks are a perfect 4-0 in their last four games against the Blues in St. Louis while the underdog is 5-2 in the last seven meetings between these two teams overall.
St. Louis
Despite the Ducks’ recent dominance over the Blues, the home team is 38-18-1 in the last 57 meetings between these two teams.
Our Prediction
The over has been profitable in recent Blues games, especially when they’re at home (4-1 in the Blues’ last five games overall and 8-3 in their last 11 games played at Enterprise Center). That said, the under has been a better play in this series, cashing in all four of the last four meetings between the Ducks and Blues when the game is played in St. Louis. The under is also 5-2 in the Ducks’ last seven games versus Central Division opponents and is 8-3 in the Blues’ last 11 games versus the Pacific. After scoring five goals in back-to-back wins over the Sabres and Rangers, respectively, I see the Blues’ offense only generating three goals tonight and their defense suffocating the Ducks in a 3-2 or 3-1 win.
Monday NHL Prediction: Ducks/Blues UNDER 5.5
