HOUSTON (AP) -Houston police said there is no evidence that three patrol officers assaulted the father of Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver last month.
Houston police said Tuesday their investigation concluded that 56-year-old Marvin Driver did not have injuries consistent with a recent assault. The department said “the investigation could not prove or disprove Mr. Driver’s allegations.”
Marvin Driver, who had been in critical condition after the alleged November assault, claimed the officers beat him after he was stopped for outstanding traffic warrants.
The department said the three officers will return to normal duty.
Driver’s family could not be immediately reached for comment.
