INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -Colts linebacker Gary Brackett will miss Saturday’s playoff game at San Diego with a cracked bone in his lower right leg.
It’s the fifth straight game Brackett, the defensive captain, will miss. He hasn’t played since Nov. 30 when he was hurt at Cleveland.
“Gary will not play this week, but he is making progress,” coach Tony Dungy said Tuesday. “We’ll visit it again next week, if we can.”
Dungy did not say who would replace Brackett in the lineup.
Buster Davis, a midseason acquisition, has started in Brackett’s place three of the last four weeks, but the Colts could also move outside linebacker Freddy Keiaho inside and reinsert Tyjuan Hagler, last year’s starter on the outside, in the lineup.
The Colts have only two other injury concerns.
ed to practice Tuesday.
“We hope to get them some practice time in as the week goes on,” Dungy said. “We’ll just have to see. They’re probably both 50-50 right now.”
Third-year lineman Dan Federkeil will likely replace Pollak, if he cannot play. Federkeil started the first three games this season when Pollak was out with a right knee injury.
