ST. LOUIS (AP) -For a month, Steven Jackson carried the St. Louis Rams’ offense on his aching back.
Jackson was a surprise scratch for Sunday’s 31-10 loss at Arizona, and confirmed after the game that he’s been playing with a herniated disk that will not require surgery.
But he expects to return for the finale after watching the Rams (1-14) demonstrate they can score a handful of points and remain the front-runner for the No. 1 overall pick of the draft with or without him.
Just like last week, coach Steve Spagnuolo would not tip his hand on a quarterback against the San Francisco 49ers (7-8). Rookie Keith Null has committed 10 turnovers in his first three career starts.
