BEREA, Ohio (AP) – His future in Cleveland perhaps nearing a premature ending, Browns coach Eric Mangini firmly believes his team has improved in his second season.
The Browns (5-10) have gone 2-5 since stunning the New England Patriots on Nov. 7, and will carry a three-game losing streak into their home finale against Pittsburgh. Following that game, Mangini will be evaluated by team president Mike Holmgren, who could choose to make a change.
Mangini said his recent discussions with Holmgren have been team related and not about his future.
On Monday, fullback Lawrence Vickers and cornerback Sheldon Brown offered their support of Mangini, who is just 10-21 since taking over the Browns.
