AURORA, Colo. (AP) – The third Denver Broncos player to be arrested this season is due in court on a domestic violence allegation.
Denver Broncos officials released rookie linebacker Kevin Alexander hours after his arrest Monday. He was set to appear in court Tuesday in Aurora, Colo.
Team officials say his release was a football decision to clear a roster spot for cornerback Chevis Jackson.
A woman who said she was Alexander’s girlfriend told police he had assaulted her Sunday night after an argument about his alleged infidelity.
The 23-year-old Alexander was taken into custody for investigation of misdemeanor assault and battery and was released after posting $2,000 bail.
Alexander signed with the Broncos in April as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson.
