NEW YORK (AP) - Comments on the Detroit Lions by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
---
DETROIT LIONS (24)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 21) - Playing just well enough to lose.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 23) - This team has flat-out underachieved. Lack of discipline has hurt.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 25)
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 24) - One of the most disappointing teams in the league this year.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 20) - Losing streak to Packers now at 22, longest in the NFL. That kind of year for a Lions team that looked so promising coming in.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 28) - The 4-9 Lions have blown double-digit leads in losing each of their last three games.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 26) - For those keeping score, since the Lions won their first five last year they're 9-16, including the playoffs. Just sayin'.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 23) - The only NFC club without a division win literally has no defense for a 4-9 debacle.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 21) - They are losing all the close games they won last year. Mathew Stafford is on pace for 745 pass plays called but only 21 touchdown passes.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 27) - The inconsistent and undisciplined play continues to bite this team full of talent.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 26) - On the bright side for one of the NFL's most disappointing teams, Detroit's five-game losing streak should end Sunday against a team that has dropped nine straight contests - Arizona.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 26) - Their fifth straight loss has clinched them last place in the NFC North.
