SAN DIEGO (AP) -The San Diego Chargers said Tuesday they will not raise the price of season tickets for the 2009 season.
Regular-season prices will remain at $48 per game, while seats in the club section will begin at $140 per game.
The team also said it will lower the price on approximately 1,300 tickets next year in expanded family sections. The season ticket price in those sections will be $48 per game and alcohol will be banned.
“We have listened to the many fans who are interested in bringing their family and sitting in the family section,” executive vice president A.G. Spanos, the grandson of owner Alex Spanos, said in a statement. “With these changes for 2009, the Chargers will now have one of the largest designated family areas in the NFL.”
The Chargers (5-8) were projected by many to reach the Super Bowl but instead have been all but mathematically eliminated from contention in the AFC West. They trail the Denver Broncos by three games with three to go.
