NEW ORLEANS (AP) -Saints starting cornerback Randall Gay had to be helped off the field early in the first quarter against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
Gay was pursuing Falcons running back Michael Turner when he took a heavy hit in a crowd of players near the line of scrimmage.
Turner broke loose for a 26-yard gain while Gay remained down on his hands and knees. He was not limping but appeared wobbly as two trainers helped him walk to the sideline and take a seat on the bench.
Second-year cornerback Usama Young replaced Gay.
