SAN DIEGO (AP) -After taking a serious beatdown from the rival Oakland Raiders, the San Diego Chargers have no wiggle room in their attempt to win their fifth straight AFC West title.
The Chargers need to win out and get some help from other teams to win the division after they were outmuscled by the Raiders on Sunday, losing 28-13 and allowing a whopping 251 yards rushing.
The Chargers are tied with Oakland at 6-6, two games behind Kansas City with four to play. The Chargers host the Chiefs on Sunday, needing a win to remain in contention. The Chiefs beat the Chargers 21-14 on opening night.
As quarterback Philip Rivers says, the Chargers are still alive. But that’s the best he can say. The Chargers expect the Chiefs to attack them like the Raiders did.
