INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -Jim Caldwell is telling Colts players they still control their own fate.
For now, they do. How much longer they will depends on how quickly Indy can get the problems fixed.
With Peyton Manning mired in the worst slump of his pro career and the Colts reeling from a third consecutive loss, Indy’s chance for a ninth consecutive playoff appearance is now in serious jeopardy.
Indianapolis plays three of its final four games against division foes. If the Colts win all three, they likely will retain the AFC South title for a second straight year. But stumble anywhere along the way, including Thursday night at Tennessee, and the defending AFC champs will need a lot of help to get back into the postseason.
