ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) – Bills running back Fred Jackson hasn’t forgotten or forgiven what former teammate Donte Whitner had to say about the franchise, the city of Buffalo and rookie receiver Sammy Watkins last summer.
Jackson says it was ”dumb” of the Cleveland Browns safety to do that, and referred to Whitner as being ”an idiot” for trying to ruffle some feathers.
Jackson spoke Wednesday as Buffalo (6-5) prepares to host Cleveland (7-4) on Sunday.
Whitner spent his first five seasons in Buffalo before leaving in free agency in 2011.
In July, Whitner went to Twitter and engaged – and enraged – Bills fans during the uncertainty of the franchise’s sale process by referring to the team as the ”Toronto Bills.” In June, Whitner exchanged comments with Watkins.
Whitner says he isn’t sorry.
