ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz says his players are getting used to playing in close games.
Schwartz adds the problem is, the Lions aren’t winning them.
Detroit dropped an NFL-record 25th straight game on the road, losing 14-12 to the previously winless Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Five of the Lions’ seven losses have been by fewer than five points and both of their victories have been by double digits.
Along the way, Detroit kicker Jason Hanson has become the losingest player in NFL history.
Hanson has lost 190 games in which he played, surpassing Morten Andersen’s mark of 188 losses, according to STATS, LLC. The loss at Buffalo didn’t count against Hanson’s total because he was inactive with an injured right knee.
