FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -Jets wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery says an MRI exam reveals he has a “slight” groin tear and his status for New York’s next game is uncertain.
Cotchery was injured in overtime of the Jets’ 26-20 victory in Cleveland on Sunday, just before making a terrific diving catch. The wide receiver says Monday he will see how his body responds to treatment, and surgery has not yet been discussed.
The status of quarterback Mark Sanchez (right calf) and left guard Matt Slauson (right knee) were not yet known, although Sanchez’s injury is not believed to be serious.
Sanchez returned and played well after being injured in the third quarter. He said after the game he expected to play next week against Houston.
