IRVING, Texas (AP) -Dallas Cowboys guard Leonard Davis missed practice Thursday, a day after somebody rolled on his ankle during a workout.
Davis was on the field in shorts and didn't appear to be limping.
After Davis was hurt Wednesday, coach Wade Phillips said Davis would be checked out by doctors. The coach didn't know the extent of the injury then, but said it was a good sign that Davis walked off under his own power.
Davis wasn't in the locker room Thursday when it was open to reporters. Phillips' daily briefing with reporters was scheduled after practice.
After six disappointing seasons in Arizona, which made him the No. 2 overall pick in the 2001 draft out of Texas, Davis signed a seven-year free agent contract worth nearly $50 million with the Cowboys during the offseason. That included $18.75 million guaranteed, a team-record $16 million signing bonus and a $2.75 million salary for 2007.
