FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -Rex Ryan is focusing on the positives, no matter how close the New York Jets came to losing to the Detroit Lions.
The fact the Jets trailed by 10 with under 3 minutes left and were facing a second straight loss out of the bye with another sloppy performance? The coach says Monday that New York found a way to win, adding that that’s what great teams do.
Great might be too strong a word for the Jets, who certainly are lucky. And at 6-2, they’re again at the top of the AFC East despite having some serious flaws. They were called for 11 penalties in the 23-20 overtime victory Sunday, and fumbled five times.
Still, Ryan loved how Mark Sanchez got things done with the game on the line in regulation, and again to win it in overtime.
