KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – Raider-hater parties are once again the rage in Kansas City.
The flames have been rekindled in a once-great rivalry. The Chiefs and Raiders are fun and relevant again, playing for first place just like they did so many times in their colorful past.
The resurgent Chiefs haven’t won a playoff game since 1994, but they are headed to Oakland on Sunday in first place in the AFC West, facing the second-place Raiders at 4-4.
Fans and players who remember when Oakland and Kansas City were dominant franchises in the AFL and then AFC are welcoming the renewed rivalry.
At least 18 players, coaches and owners from the two clubs in their glory days are now in the Hall of Fame.
