ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -Washington Redskins receiver Santana Moss was unable to practice again Friday because of a strained hamstring. Moss is now a game-time decision for Monday night’s matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Coach Jim Zorn had been optimistic all week that Moss would play, but the receiver’s third consecutive day of inactivity tempered expectations. Moss is questionable on the injury report.
“Game-time decision, definitely, and it’ll be based on how he feels,” Zorn said. “I don’t want him to go out there and play a couple of plays and go, ‘Eh, it doesn’t feel very good.”’
Moss was injured in last week’s win over Detroit, a game in which he caught a 50-yard touchdown pass and returned a punt 80 yards for a score. His 658 yards receiving rank fifth in the NFL.
hy receivers if Moss can’t play.
Several other hobbling starters were able to take part in at least some of the practice, including running back Clinton Portis (ankle), cornerback Carlos Rogers (calf), left tackle Chris Samuels (knee), defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin (shoulder) and safety LaRon Landry (hamstring). Portis is listed as probable, while the other four are questionable.
Defensive end Jason Taylor (calf), cornerback Shawn Springs (calf), running back Ladell Betts (knee) and Kelly (knee) have already been ruled out for Monday.
