JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) – Jeremy Mincey has a broken right hand, his fourth hand/wrist injury in four years, and is questionable for Sunday’s game at Dallas.
Mincey’s latest setback came Wednesday, the same day he was promoted to a starter over former first-round draft pick Derrick Harvey. Mincey calls it “Jeremy Mincey luck.”
Coach Jack Del Rio tells Mincey “to drink more milk.” Del Rio also says Mincey could play with a club on his hand against the Cowboys, but nothing has been decided.
If Mincey can’t play, Harvey and rookies Austen Lane and Aaron Morgan would see more action.
Mincey broke the same hand last year. He broke his left wrist in 2007 and again in 2008. He calls the injuries “freak things,” adding that doctors tell him he has really strong bones.
