LANDOVER, Md. (AP) -Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley broke his right ankle on the first play of the second quarter of Monday night’s 27-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Redskins coach Jim Zorn said Cooley “will be out for a while now,” and added that he wasn’t sure whether the player is done for the season.
The news is another blow to a Redskins offense that already was without starting offensive linemen Chris Samuels and Randy Thomas.
Quarterback Jason Campbell, whose first four throws Monday were to Cooley, said: “Losing Chris is big.”
