BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) – Former NFL linebacker Arlington “Ali” Highsmith is facing a drug charge after Baton Rouge police said they found two pounds of marijuana in his refrigerator.
Baton Rouge Police Sgt. Don Kelly said Highsmith was booked into jail on one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana following his arrest Friday. The jail said Highsmith had been released but didn’t have any information on whether he had an attorney.
No phone listing for him could be found.
Highsmith played for Louisiana State University before the Arizona Cardinals signed him as a rookie free agent in 2008. He played in 20 games over two seasons for the Cardinals. He was claimed off waivers by San Diego in August, but the Chargers waived him later in the month.
