RENTON, Wash. (AP) -Matt Hasselbeck has made it through his first Seahawks practice with a broken rib. Playing in Sunday’s game against Jacksonville remains another matter.
The three-time Pro Bowl passer gave a tepid “OK” assessment of Wednesday’s practice, his first on-field work since he got hurt Sept. 20 on a dive for the goal line in San Francisco.
He says he will do all he can on the field through Friday, and will then let coaches and doctors decide if he’s able to return.
Offensive coordinator Greg Knapp said Hasselbeck looked a little bit out of football shape but that his energy was excellent and his throwing motion was fine.
Seneca Wallace would make his third consecutive start if Hasselbeck can’t play.
