MILWAUKEE (AP) -It’s too early to panic for the Green Bay Packers, even after a loss to Brett Favre and the division rival Minnesota Vikings.
But Green Bay (2-2) may bring in veteran tackle Mark Tauscher for a workout. The Packers have given up a league-worst 20 sacks in four games, including eight Monday night to the Vikings.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy told reporters Tuesday that Tauscher could be brought back to compete for the starting right tackle job he held for most of nine seasons before a major knee injury last December.
McCarthy said Allen Barbre remains the team’s starter. But if Tauscher has fully rehabilitated his torn left anterior cruciate ligament, he could provide a boost.
