TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) – Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt could be on the brink of casting his struggling team’s fate into the hands of undrafted rookie quarterback Max Hall.
Whisenhunt, speaking less than 24 hours after the Cardinals’ 41-10 loss at San Diego, would not name Hall the starter for next Sunday’s game against Super Bowl champion New Orleans. But the coach’s decision to put Hall in the game in the second quarter against the Chargers could signal he has seen enough of the erratic Derek Anderson.
Whisenhunt still was able to joke a bit on Monday. Asked if he had made a decision about quarterback, the coach said, “I think we’re going to go without one this week.”
