RENTON, Wash. (AP) – Seattle Seahawks tight end Zach Miller underwent ankle surgery during the team’s bye week and there is no timetable for his return.
Miller’s surgery was first reported by Fox Sports on Monday and was later confirmed by the team. The team was scheduled to practice later Monday with coach Pete Carroll talking afterward.
Miller was listed on the injury report with an ankle injury before the Seahawks’ 26-20 overtime win over Denver in Week 3. Miller played extensively against the Broncos and was in on 71 of 79 snaps.
Miller has six receptions in three games, but has been more important as an additional blocker helping the Seahawks’ offensive line. Seattle will turn to second-year tight end Luke Willson and Cooper Helfet to fill in while Miller is out.
