ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -Owner Jerry Jones says it would be a mistake to put too much emphasis on the Dallas Cowboys losing the first game in their new stadium.
While Jones was certainly disappointed about losing to the New York Giants , he said Friday the loss is “all behind us now.”
He says the emphasis put on the hoopla and pageantry that surrounded the grand opening of the nearly $1.2 billion stadium was justified. As for the loss for the Cowboys (1-1), he says he has put that into perspective – it was only the second game of the season.
Quarterback Tony Romo had one of his worst games, throwing for only 127 yards with three interceptions that led to three touchdowns for the Giants, who won 33-31 on a field goal as time expired.
Jones says he still has full confidence in Romo.
