KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -One game into his career as quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, Matt Cassel finds himself surrounded by skeptical fans and critical media. The endorsement from his head coach was not exactly ringing, either.
Maybe it’s a good thing Cassel never reads the newspaper, listens to the radio talk shows or watches sports on television.
Otherwise, he might get the idea that at least a few people are thinking the $28 million general manager Scott Pioli has guaranteed him is the major reason Brodie Croyle will not start this week at Philadelphia.
Cassel said Thursday he does not believe his job security is affected in any way by his contract.
