ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) -Michael Huff is finally turning into the big-play safety the Oakland Raiders expected when they drafted him seventh overall in 2006.
After struggling his first three years and losing his starting job, Huff has emerged early in his fourth season. He has intercepted three passes and recovered a fumble in the first two games for the Raiders. He had only one interception and one fumble recovery in the first 48 games of his career.
Huff credits increased film study and working with Pro Bowl cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha for his success. Coach Tom Cable says he sees a much more confident player than the one he benched midway though last season.
