ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -To be clear, it isn’t running back Fred “Action” Jackson’s intention to steal Marshawn Lynch’s job as the Buffalo Bills starter.
The way he’s opened the season filling in while Lynch serves an NFL-imposed three-game suspension, Jackson’s making a good case otherwise.
“I’m just trying to let them know that I’m another valuable weapon on this team and I want to be used as much as possible,” Jackson said. “That’s the No. 1 goal.”
That goal has been met as the Bills (1-1) prepare to host New Orleans (2-0) this weekend.
Jackson had a career-best 163 yards rushing against Tampa Bay last weekend. With a team-leading 220 yards rushing and 108 yards receiving, he has accounted for nearly half of Buffalo’s offensive production.
