ATLANTA (AP) -Carolina quarterback Jake Delhomme injured his right arm Sunday while throwing a pass late in the third quarter against the Atlanta Falcons.
Delhomme wasn't hit on the play, but he began shaking his arm and motioning toward the sideline as soon as he delivered a short pass to Brad Hoover.
The quarterback kneeled down near the Panthers' sideline for about a minute, then headed to the bench with an apparent elbow injury. He was replaced by David Carr, who quickly guided the Panthers to a touchdown that gave them a 24-17 lead.
It wasn't immediately known if Delhomme would be able to return.
