After throwing four interceptions and posting a 5.1 rating in his NFL debut, Weeden passed for 322 yards and threw two touchdowns in his second game on Sunday in a 34-27 loss to Cincinnati. It was a remarkable turnaround for the 28-year-old Weeden, who also completed 70 percent of his throws against the Bengals.
Browns coach Pat Shurmur felt Weeden's preparation between games was a major reason for his dramatic improvement. Weeden said he spent the week studying hard for the Bengals as if his job depended on it. Weeden wasn't perfect, but Shurmur said his QB responded well to some tough love from Cleveland's coaches and made minimal mistakes in his first AFC North game.
Shurmur acknowledged he's tough on Weeden.
