NEW YORK (AP) – The NFL has fined Minnesota offensive tackle Phil Loadholt $10,000 for two unnecessary roughness penalties in the Vikings’ Week 1 game against New Orleans.
Carolina safety Sherrod Martin and Dallas nose tackle Jay Ratliff also were fined by the league Friday, both for $5,000.
Loadholt was disciplined for twice grabbing a Saints’ face mask, in the second and fourth quarters of the game Sept. 9.
Martin was cited for unnecessary roughness on the hit Sunday that gave New York Giants tight end Kevin Boss a concussion.
Ratliff was penalized for roughing the passer in the Cowboys’ game against Washington, unnecessarily hitting Donovan McNabb in the knee area.
