JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) – Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback David Garrard has returned to practice one day after sitting out with a strained back.
Garrard, 32, sat out practice Thursday when a muscle in his middle back he says “didn’t feel right” while warming up.
The QB, back on the field Friday, says his back “is definitely OK,” he just wanted to be smart with it. He says he has been “getting a lot of treatment and they’ve got it feeling brand new.”
Coach Jack Del Rio says the strain was so insignificant he usually doesn’t put it on the team’s injury report. Del Rio says he put it on because “everybody wants to know about the quarterback. If the quarterback burps people want to know. He had a belch” on Thursday.
Jacksonville plays at San Diego Sunday.
