MIAMI (AP) -Dallas Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman was inactive for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins because of a foot injury.
Defensive tackle Greg Ellis (Achilles' tendon) was also inactive, as expected. Both missed the season opener a week ago.
Nathan Jones started for Newman, who returned to practice this past week, but hasn't played since the first preseason game because of a slight tear in tissue on the base of his foot.
