TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -Arizona’s Anquan Boldin sat out practice Wednesday, but Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt says he is optimistic the three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver will play in Sunday’s season-opener against San Francisco.
The sore hamstring kept Boldin out of the final two preseason games and he didn’t practice last week.
Whisenhunt says that in talking with Boldin he thinks the chances the receiver will play are “very good.” Whisenhunt says that his history with Boldin in such situations adds to his optimism.
Meanwhile, wide receiver Steve Breaston says he is still not 100 percent recovered from a bruised kneecap, but is expected to play Sunday.
