FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -The New England Patriots placed linebacker Bo Ruud and defensive lineman Kenny Smith on injured reserve, and put tackle Oliver Ross on the non-football injury reserve list Saturday.
The Patriots also released 14 players, including cornerback Fernando Bryant and defensive lineman Titus Adams, as part of their moves to get to the 53-man roster limit.
Ruud has been sidelined by an ankle injury. He was the Patriots’ sixth-round draft pick from Nebraska.
Smith has an arm injury. The 30-year-old has 69 career tackles in 30 games, but has not played since 2003 when he was with New Orleans.
A shoulder injury pushed Ross onto the non-football injury reserve list. The 10-year veteran missed all of last season with a triceps injury.
