NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – After another ugly preseason loss, the Tennessee Titans have this to console themselves: They didn’t bother game-planning for this one.
Vince Young was sacked four times in two quarters and the Titans offense was unable to move the ball.
The best thing from the Titans’ 15-7 loss at Carolina on Saturday night? Their defense.
A woeful unit in 2009 gave up an average of 25.1 points, but showed plenty of promise Saturday with top draft pick Derrick Morgan finally making his NFL debut.
Coach Jeff Fisher says the defense played well. The Titans kept Carolina’s first-team offense desperately looking for its first touchdown this preseason, even though it played three quarters.
